After quite a heavy issue last month, I thought I’d do a lighter one this time. I like doing a six-monthly kind of life catchup with you guys, so this one’s going to be just that. This post also has pictures, so if you listen to the voiceover, you may want to come back and check those later.

Last weekend was one of the most special ones of our life.

It was Saturday morning, and I’d woken up a little early to bake a marmalade cake. I’d tested the recipe a few days ago to get a feel for it and now some flour, eggs, and sugar later, there was a buttery, golden sponge slowly rising in the oven.

It was officially the day when we were going to pick up our rescue kitty from his foster family’s place and I’d just wanted to prepare a small thank you package for how lovingly they’d been taking care of him.
